Health Care Reform? How about Government Reform?

A month or so has now gone by, and Obamabeenlyintoya signed into law, his Health Care Reform legislation. Which on the surface looks good, although some months even years will go by before we see the legislation bare fruit. The fact that chopping off excessive health care costs I think is a step in the right direction. Just this past week, I had a blood clot in my calf. Doctor said go into hospital, now besides the fact that I hate any place confining as well as restrictive, I saved the tax payers of this state/nation several thousand bucks a day for me lying in a hospital room, doing the same thing that I can do at home. I can soak my leg in hot water, take blood thinners, keep my leg elevated, and mildew and stew for several days myself at home. Why charge the tax payers several thousand bucks off my Medicaid that don’t need too. Shit if I punch out for the final time, the only difference is they find my dead body sooner in the hospital, rather than until it stinks at home. Even if I croaked in the hospital I have a do not revive order attached to my arm. So they can’t do anything else, so why bother? I’m not afraid of death, in fact I welcome it. Glad to go when God above says so. But that said, the same kinds of thinking that put me in the hospital, is wide spread all over the nation. Medical Doctors and others, especially if its on Medicaid/Medicare, are all too happy to admit someone into the hospital. Much of what most hospitals do can be done at home. But overcharging the American Tax Payer is not the way to sustain any style of economic recovery. But that said, now that we have HealthCare Reform, how about Government Reform? Let’s demand that those we send to DC and elsewhere o represent us and especially the interests of us trucking and toewing hear our words and act accordingly. There are many issues coming up very rapidly in our nation for both industries. H-O-S, EOBR’s and other issues that will invade your cab and your life and restrict an already restricted R-O-I. If you are not already a member of OOIDA, I urge you to do so. At $45.00 a year its the least expensive way to get the voice of Americas road warriors like you and me heard in our nations capitol. More over if you are a member of OOIDA, don’t just sit on the sidelines. Get out when you can and voice your concerns and feelings. More over make damn sure you read LandLine Magazine, listen to LandLine Now on XM, and tune into me overnight on 105.7 FM here in Idaho or anywhere the Dixie Diesel Trucker Radio Network is heard. Stay informed, be educated. The concept of the ignorant truck driver is long gone. The tradition of the lone cowboy trucker is also a forgotten concept. We are both in toewing(mis-spelled on purpose) and trucking are professional freight relocation specialists. As well as disabled vehicle recovery and transport technicians. Lets live up to this standard. Then perhaps our Government will not only be reformed, but our nation can once again become United.

Keep it Between the ditches.
